Steven L. Abrams is the Managing Partner of the Palm Beach County LSN Partners office.
Steven has served the public in South Florida for over 30 years at various levels, including: city, county, and regional government. Abrams was first elected in 1989 to the Boca Raton City Council, and then held the position of Mayor for two terms. He subsequently served a decade as a Palm Beach County Commissioner, including a term as the first Mayor of Palm Beach County.
Most recently, Steven completed 12 years of service with the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA), which operates the Tri-Rail system, first as the Chairman and then as the Executive Director. During his tenure as Executive Director, Abrams erased a $16 million deficit, upgraded the tracks and improved on-time performance. Under his leadership, Tri-Rail rose to one of the nation’s top ten commuter rail systems. Building on his transportation expertise, Steven participates in LSN’s national transportation practice. He also represents clients locally, promoting Transit-Oriented Developments (TODs) and other mixed-use real estate projects.
Steven brings experience to the firm’s stellar emergency management practice. As Mayor of Boca Raton, he gained national exposure and local respect during the first bioterrorist attack in American history when, in the aftermath of 9/11, anthrax was discovered in the National Enquirer building in Boca. Abrams received the Distinguished Service Medal from the Israel National Police for his leadership during the ordeal. He testified on national television on the government’s response at the invitation of a United States Senate subcommittee. Additionally, he led his city’s response and recovery from three hurricanes within 14 months.
Abrams is also a Partner of LSN Law, P.A., where he draws on his 25 years of experience as a practicing attorney in South Florida. Steven assists clients with land use & zoning, contracts & procurement and permitting & licensing.
Abrams previously served as a law clerk in the White House Counsel’s office to current Chief Justice of the United States John G. Roberts, Jr. He is a member of the Florida Bar and District of Columbia Bar.
Steven graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University, where he won the prize for best senior Government thesis, and subsequently earned his law degree from George Washington University.
Steven and his wife, Debbie, have been married for over 40 years and have two grown children. Like all good Philadelphia natives, he follows all Philly sports teams closely and gets his Wawa fix whenever possible.
